Missed the season, here are Super Smash Highlights for you

Super Smash 2019-20 was a great tournament played in high spirits by all the teams. A total of 32 games were played during the tournament and Wellington Firebirds emerged as the winner at the end. It was the third time that the team won the title by defeating all the other participating teams. The victory of Wellington Firebirds came as no surprise as the team showed great enthusiasm and a great play right from the beginning of the tournament. If you missed watching the amazing tournament, here are super smash highlights for you:

Most runs:

The top run-getter was from Wellington Firebirds only. Opener Devon Conway was in great form and secured the title of the highest run-getter. He secured 543 runs in a total of 11 games with an average of 67.87. Auckland Aces batsman Martin Guptil was the second runner up with 403 runs in 12 games at an average of 44.77. Otago Volts’s Nick Kelly followed closely with 398 runs in 11 games at an average of 44.22.

Most Wickets:

Hamish Bennet of the Wellington Firebird, Ollie Newton from the same team and Ajaz Patel of the Central Stags were the top three bowlers for most wickets achievement. While Hamish took 17 wickets in 11 games, Newton secured 16 wickets and Ajaz had 15 wickets under his name.

Highest Individual score:

Glenn Phillips was the highest individual score record maker in this season with 106 runs under his belt. The second and third position was secured by Devon Conway and Chad Bowes with 101 and 95 runs respectively.

Best Bowling Performance:

Will Williams of the Canterbury Kings was the best bowling performer with 398 runs in 11 games at an average of 44.22. Nathan Smith of Otago Volts and Ollie Newton of Wellington Firebirds had the second and third place.

Highest team score:

The highest season score records went to Canterbury Kings. They made a score of 222 for 3 against Northern Knights.

Most Catches:

Neil Broom took the highest number of catches, 10 catches in 11 games. The player is from Otago Volts Willem Ludick of the Central Districts and Will Williams of the Canterbury Kings were the second and third-best performers with 8 catches to their names.

The season was full of great gameplay and several; new records were made. The teams performed really well making it a total entertainment package for the fans.
